❖ PR Aomori Airport, located on the hillside, which is about 10km south of downtown Aomori. The airport has been picking up many visitors from Seoul, Korea who come for skiing during the winter season. However, the numbers have been declining since the Tohoku High Speed Railway system opened some years ago. The Aomori Airport sees the most snowfall of any airports around the world. Because of this, the airport's special crew known as "White Impulse" was established with the task and challenge of removing snow as quickly as possible.

❖ Tourist Attractions Munakata Shiko Memorial Museum of Art
❖ Details Munakatashiko, born in Amoroi, was a world class woodblock artist in the history of Japan. A memorial museum was dedicated to him, opened in 1975 with a structure of the log house style and a Japanese garden which features a pond in the middle with the walk path around it. The museum of the garden brings exhibitions which are replaced four times a year. The museum is also in connection with the Heiwa Park, Sakaecho Bungei Komich -Art and literature alley, Utou Shrine, Nebuta House- Warasse, which you can experience during the Nebuta festival.
❖ Local Products Ichigoni Soup
❖ Details One of Hachinohe cuisines, Ichigoni, which literally translates to strawberry soup. However, the soup itself contains no strawberries. It is a traditional sea broth with sea urchins and abalones. Ichigoni got its name from the sea urchins in the cloudy broth which resembles wild strawberries. It has become an essential and indispensable dish for celebrations.
